Joining SOVREN

SOVREN, the Society of Vintage Racing ENthusiasts, is an organization of over 400 members who, as the name implies, are vintage racing enthusiasts. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and competition of pre-war, vintage and historic racing automobiles. Ownership of a vintage race car is not necessary for membership, as we welcome non-car owners, especially those who might want to volunteer to help with our events. Our members range from individuals who enjoy the spirit and camaraderie of vintage racing through restoration and wheel to wheel competition to those who enjoy working on the sidelines as pit crews, officials or turn workers to those who simply enjoy the thrill of watching these old race cars come to life again.

SOVREN communicates with its members through the Vintage Drift print magazine and the emailed Bulletin Board. The Vintage Drift is published quarterly and features race stories, great photography, and profiles of members and members’ cars. The Bulletin Board is emailed monthly and includes news items and reports from committee and board meetings.

See the About Us page for more information about the club, its activities, and car eligibility.

There are two types of SOVREN membership: Non-racer and Racer. Non-racer memberships are suitable for any enthusiast, including extended family, crew, officials, and retired racers. Membership benefits include free admission to all races and board position voting privileges. Racer memberships additionally enable participation as a driver in SOVREN events, with either a SOVREN competition license or an accepted license from another organization, and have further benefits such as reserved car numbers, and rule change submission and voting privileges. Note that non-members can participate as racers by purchasing a single-event membership and holding a valid competition license. For complete details, see the online membership form available through the Forms page, and/or contact the SOVREN Membership Chair.

A plastic hard card containing membership information, photo, and your competition license information (if applicable) will be mailed to your address on record or available at event registration upon request. To use your membership card for event admission, present your membership card or your name at Registration, sign the waiver, and receive a wristband for admittance.
