Championship Standings
Championship Points Structure
The season overall championship is presented in six groups.
A. Historic Production up to 1799cc
B. Historic Production 1800cc – 3200cc
C. Historic Production over 3200cc
D. Formula and Sports Racers
E. Exhibition and Purpose-Built
F. Vintage, 1 Jan 1940 – 1 Dec 1962
The goal of the championship is to reward participation at recognized events with a well-prepared car rather than rewarding finishing position. Points start accumulating as soon as a driver becomes a SOVREN member. Points are awarded as follows.
- One point for each race lap completed at all SOVREN events. An additional point per race lap will be awarded at certain SOVREN events as determined seasonally by the board.
- Two points for each race lap completed at the SVRA Portland Historics and the SVRA/TransAm.
- Two points for each race lap completed at VRCBC British Columbia Historic Motor Races.
- Two points for each timed run completed at the Maryhill Hillclimb.
- Ten points for licensed drivers who sign up and work at the Novice Program.
- No points are awarded for special races at an event such as an Enduro or handicap race.
